Dr. Meaghan Lehmann
What types of therapy are available?
Tailoring an appropriate and successful treatment depends on the needs and goals of the client which are further discussed during the initial intake. While I work within a range methodologies, I have been trained in both psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy. Finding a healthy balance between developing self-awareness while effectively learning and utilizing more adaptive coping skills is one of many important goals in developing a successful treatment plan. My goal is to provide the most comprehensive and helpful therapeutic experience that best meets the needs of the client. While no two treatments are exactly alike, the primary therapies I provide are the following:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention
Mindfulness Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Skills
Short-term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Play Therapy, Family Therapy
School Based Interventions
Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction Model, Twelve Step Model
Social Skills Training, Behavioral Management and Reinforcement Systems
Early Intervention, Parent-Child Therapy
Neuropsychology and Assessment
Psychiatric and School Consultations
Online Sessions and Teletherapy:
In addition to face-to-face sessions, skype sessions and phone sessions are available for patients who are out of the area or unable to travel to Manhattan. Skype and phone sessions are equal to face-to-face sessions in both length and rate.
Payment Options and Health Insurance:
While I do not accept health insurance, I do provide an appropriate receipt for services that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many of my clients receive 70 - 80% reimbursement. Please call for rates.
For therapy to be effective in goal achievement, weekly attendance is of the utmost importance. Required minimum attendance is 80% of weekly appointments (4 out of every 5 sessions).
Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 48-hours in advance unless due to an emergency.
